What is Mind?
Mind is one of the leading mental health charities in the UK. For over 70 years our work has ensured that anyone struggling with their mental health has somewhere to turn to.
We offer vital support services and campaign for better mental health polices. And we work to break down stigmas surrounding mental health in society.
What we do
At Mind, we’re fighting for the mental health of people in England and Wales by:
- Mental health support – Anyone can use our Infoline, legal help, and online advice when they need it
- Campaigning for change – We push for better mental health services and workplace support
- Offering workplace training – We help businesses create mentally healthy environments
- Working with local Minds – We want to help communities by offering local support across England and Wales
The impact of our work
How does Mind make a difference? Each year we publish an annual report highlighting what impact our work has in England and Wales.
In the last year we have:
- Responded to thousands of queries through our support and information helplines
- Helped more people get the mental health help they need, with our resources used over 25 million times.
- Encouraged peer support with our Side by Side online support community
- Driven change with over 30,000 of you campaigning with us to improve mental health services
What we’ve achieved
For over 70 years, Mind has worked to make life better for people with mental health problems.
Here are some of the things we’ve done:
- Helped change the law to reduce the use of force in mental health units
- Pushed for shorter waiting times and helped get £1 billion in funding for mental health care
- Led big campaigns like Time to Change and helped stop unfair treatment of people with mental health problems
- Made sure mental health spending is clear, improved crisis care, and worked to change the benefits system
Mind Cymru
Mind Cymru is part of Mind, but with a focus on improving mental health services in Wales. We’re working to make sure everyone in Wales has access to mental health information, support and services when they need it most.
Local Minds
Mind supports over 100 local Minds across England and Wales. Local Minds support communities with essential mental health support including:
- Supported housing – assisting those who need a safe space to call home
- Crisis helplines – helping those who need immediate support
- Drop-in centres – establishing a place for people to connect
- Employment schemes – supporting people in getting back into work
- Counselling and befriending – helping people feel heard and supported
How we raise and spend our money
Mind relies on donations to fund our life-changing work. We’re so grateful to everyone who supports us. That’s why we’re committed to being open about how we’re funded and managed.
Our funding comes from:
- Generous public donations and corporate partnerships
- Fundraising events and charity challenges
- Sales from Mind charity shops
- Grants and support from trusts and foundations

Our strategy
While mental health affects everyone, some of us face greater challenges in getting support. Our strategy focuses on supporting people disproportionately affected by mental health issues. We prioritise:
- People from racialised communities
- Young people
- People living in poverty
Our policy work
We don’t just give support – we also push for change. Our policy work helps shape government decisions so people with mental health problems get the help and respect they need.
We campaign for things like:
- Better laws to protect people in mental health crises
- Better care in hospitals, more talking therapies, and good online support
- Ending stigma, unfair treatment, and harmful things like conversion ‘therapy’
- Working with leaders to get funding, improve NHS plans, and keep mental health a top priority

What are direct messages?
Direct messaging helps you connect with your friends and community on TikTok. Messaging means you can send and receive messages and share TikTok posts directly on TikTok.
What is changing?
Direct message settings on TikTok will be changing within the next few weeks. We will send you a notification when your new settings are ready to use.
I am 16 or 17 years old, what is changing for me?
Your new settings will include the following permissions:
• Friends: These are users who you follow and who follow you back.
• Potential connections: These are users who have mutual connections with you, are a follower, or someone you follow.
• Others: These are other users who are between the ages of 16 and 17 on TikTok. If you choose to turn on Friends, then messages from your friends will always be delivered to your inbox. If you choose to turn on Potential Connections and Others, then you’ll receive a message request instead. If you choose to communicate with them, you will have to accept their message request first.
I am 18 years old or older, what is changing for me?
Your new settings will include the following permissions:
• Potential Connections: These are your followers.
• Others: These are other users on TikTok. Messages from your friends and people you follow will always be delivered to your inbox. People you may know will always be able to send you one message request. You can also choose to allow your Potential Connections and Others to send you a message request. If you choose to communicate with them, you will have to accept their message request first.
When are my settings changing?
These updates will be happening within the next few weeks. When the new settings are here, we will inform you by inbox notification . Please check these notifications.
Why are my settings changing?
We understand that there is an adjustment period when new features are launched. To help ease the change, your new settings will be updated based on your current selection . For example, this means that if you currently have “no one” selected, when your new settings arrive, your updated settings will all be defaulted off.
What protections are in place?
We have strengthened our safety protections. When new settings have launched, users who are Potential Connections or Others can only send you one message request. You have the choice to accept their message or ignore it.
If you are a teen, users who are 18 years of age or older who you do not follow will be blocked from sending you a message request even if you have the Potential Connections or Others setting set to “Requests”.
You will still be able to report accounts and content that violates our Community Guidelines and block accounts.

Simply put a creator network is a place where creators can learn to grow, can be part of a team with the support and knowledge of other creators, together with a team of managers.
It is a place that you will learn to make the best out of live streaming, where you will feel part of a team and get the support you need.
There are many things you gain from being part of Optimum Creator Network, but to be honest the only thing that matters is you are part of our family and we are here to help you be the best you can.
Yes we can help with bans, no we can’t lift them, any agency that says they can is lying, we can obviously speak to TikTok and find out why and appeal on your behalf.
We are not here to gift you, that isn’t what a Creator Network is for, but we can help you grow your team so that you get natural support and gifts.
We can arrange battles, we can give you pointers on your lives, we can go through your statistics with you, show you how to improve and use them to your advantage.

We have a great team of experienced streamers, creators, managers and content creators, all working together to make everyone from our newest member to our oldest, grow, improve, continuing being the best they can be.
Unlike most TikTok creator networks, we don’t promise you the world, we don’t promise to gift you. We do promise to make you the best creator you can be, whether that is with advice, training, support or anything you need to succeed.
